Learning Agreement Umea

As a student at the Umeå School of Architecture, you can apply as an exchange student through one of our agreements. We have a number of agreements with partner universities around the world. There are also central agreements and faculty agreements. All agreements at Umeå University are available in the Exhcange Agreements database. Exchange students study through an agreement between Umeå University and a partner university. This page presents the application and admission procedure for exchange students as part of the students entering the studies. To apply for an exchange at the Umeå School of Architecture (UMA), you must first be appointed by your home university, which is possible in case of an exchange agreement between the UMA and your home university (see link on the right). The coordinator of your home university appoints you for exchange studies by filling out an online form. The link to the form is not published online, but sent by e-mail to your coordinator. To travel to Umeå University as an exchange student, your home university must have signed a formal exchange agreement with Umeå University. Contact the coordinator of your home university to find out if such an agreement exists and if you can be appointed as an exchange student.

The courses that an exchange student studies during his exchanges must be entrusted to Umeå University upon their return. Therefore, the exchange student must ensure that the courses he has chosen during the exchanges have been approved by the international contact person at the Umeå School of Architecture. This can be done by entering into a learning agreement. A learning agreement is an assessment carried out by the home university and is made as a guide for students who wish to take courses at other universities. The assessment is carried out with regard to the degree that the exchange student concerned wishes to obtain. For exchange students, there is a series of priorities set by the Vice-Chancellor. Admission to courses is in the following order: (1) double degree agreements, (2) specialization agreements, (3) faculty agreements, (4) higher education-wide agreements and (4) other discipline agreements. Erasmus agreements are usually signed at department level, which means that the student is a candidate for exchange studies through their department. This is the department that nominates selected students for the partner university.
