Cal Poly SLO has no Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) programs with a California community college, including Cuesta. Our students are on the same field as all other transfer students in the Cal Poly SLO selection process. If you have any questions about Cal Poly Pomona`s articulation agreements, please contact the head of the university`s articulation, José Lozano, at (909) 869-2994 or jllozano@cpp.edu. Cal Poly receives applications for transfer students from October 1 to December 4. Learn more about our application process, including selecting a major, and how to submit your application. All future Cal Poly transfers are highly recommended to create their Cal Poly VIP account, which is a custom website that will provide you with the information you are interested in. It is recommended that all agreements be used in conjunction with the Cal Poly catalogue, which lists the most recent program, and the transfer selection criteria, which indicate the current course lists required to participate in competitive access. Cuesta College transfers more students to Cal Poly than any community college, which accounts for about a quarter of Cal Poly`s incoming transfer class each year. Cal Poly`s licensing standards have become increasingly selective in recent years, but Cuesta`s acceptance rates are well above the national average.
In department arulation agreements, all established course joints are displayed within each department. ASSIST is the official transfer and articulation system for public colleges and universities in California. As a transfer candidate, you must have completed four required general education courses with A grade or better. We call these courses the four gold. This includes: Articulation agreements in ASSIST are developed by the received campus (university campus to which a student transfers) and registered in the ASSIST database. Each university campus is responsible for the content and format of its own articulation. The analysis, analysis and data entry of all campus-to-campus joints is done on each university campus. Not all university campuses offer a articulation with each university or for all their majors or departments. Many university campuses focus on their major feeder colleges and their most popular transfer majors. For more information, please visit the ASSIST website.
One of the most important statistics for the university exam is the acceptance rate (the percentage of students who were actually accepted by those who applied). Although Cal Poly SLO`s overall acceptance rates have declined since the fall of 2007 (meaning it has become more competitive and more difficult to enter), Cuesta`s student acceptance rates at Cal Poly SLO remain among the highest in the state and much higher than the national average. Here are the 2007-2020 figures. Cal Poly does not accept applications for transfers from the division, students seeking a second bachelor`s degree, intrasystem visitors or students looking for professional or developmental growth. Although priority is given to California community colleges and universities, several agreements have been reached for private and non-state institutions to best meet the needs of our transfer students. View the Transmission Evaluation System (TES) to view each contract. (The following PDF agreements are not included in TES.) Articulation agreements are formal agreements between two campuses. They define how courses taught at a higher education institution or university campus can be used to meet a teaching request at another institution or university campus. The articulation agreements developed with california Community Colleges, California State Universities or the University of California identify the Cal Poly Pomona course corresponding to a specific transfer course.
